I am Shannon Tincher, Montessori teacher of the Primary 1 classroom and the Assistant Head of School. I have been working here since 2006 and a pre-school teacher since 2000.
I was born and raised in a small town in West Virginia. I moved to North Carolina back in 1998 and I love living here, the only down side is that most of my close family members live in West Virginia and it’s a 5 hour drive to visit.
When I began I had no knowledge about the Montessori Method but I was determined to learn because it seemed like such a natural way for children to learn and I wanted to be a part of it. I am very thankful that Denise gave me the opportunity to become a Montessori teacher. I took my training from the North American Montessori Center (NAMC), did several student observation hours in Montessori Centers around the area, and am now the coordinator of our Christian Montessori Fellowship Teacher Training Center, which will soon be MACTE certified.
For me, every year is a new beginning…..some children stay and new ones arrive but every year is different in some way. I get to see the children grow and mature, I see the different interests and needs they may have, and I get to experience the many different personalities they all have….it is ever changing and as a Montessori teacher it is my job to make it all work for the students to learn and grow into capable beings. I enjoy working with your children and I love the relationship I am able to build with them.
Thank you for trusting me with the care of your children!
