The PCMC Board of Directors would like to address the recent tragic loss of Camille Alayna Marti that has so profoundly affected our community.
First and foremost, we would like to express our heartbroken love and sincere condolences to Denise, Marcos, Isabel, and the extended Marti family. The magnitude of this tragedy can be felt so keenly by us all as parents, and we are gutted by its seemingly senseless and sudden nature. We cannot explain or understand why our Father in Heaven would allow such a devastating event to take place. We can only place hope in our knowledge that He is loving, trustworthy, all-seeing, all-knowing, and working ALL things together for the good of those who love Him. The Martis have certainly demonstrated that they love Him and are actively placing their hope in seeing their precious daughter again.
Camille Alayna Marti was a singularly joyful human. She radiated happiness, joy, kindness, and love to every person she encountered; it was her nature from childhood, and in her young adulthood, she had stepped fully into this God-given identity. You could not meet Camille and not love her; full of life, eagerly serving others and, facing challenges with bravery, wisdom, and creativity. Her dedication to serving God was forefront in her words and actions, evident to anyone in her sphere. Camille was the very first graduate from Providence. She had recently graduated from nursing school and was engaged to be married at the end of August. Although she will be missed terribly, we can be assured that her faith was sincere and, we will see her again in the world to come. Camille will be remembered always by all she touched in this world with deep, lasting fondness and admiration. This is a standard to which we can all aspire in this life.
The teachers created a beautiful memory table in the TMMA Classroom that was given to the Marti family from our community. Parents, friends and students added their memories, verses, prayers, and messages of love and comfort.
Those who know Denise have experienced her immense wisdom and dedication to her family and the families she has served through our school. She has created a place where our children can not only learn – but live. Not simply spending childhood preparing and waiting for adulthood before they experience, enjoy, and live life. She has created a place where children can learn and explore while understanding that they have individual God-given values, gifts, and purpose – today – not just once they reach adulthood. Although Camille was certainly taken from us at the very beginning of her adult life, she had already spent more time than many adults living a meaningful, purpose-filled life. A big part of the reason for that is because of who Denise Marti is and what she has created for all of us. We are so grateful for her and for the environment she has created that not only her own children but so many others have benefited from experiencing. Denise, please know how much you are loved and appreciated; we are here for whatever you need as you have been here for all of us for so long.
There is an initiative in place to create a foundation at the school in memory of Camille. The foundation will take form over time but will strive to honor and commemorate those things that were most important to Camille. If you feel so led, please consider a donation in her memory and honor.
Blessings,
